Taylor Swift Enters Her Engaged Era in a Coral Lip

In case you haven’t heard the news: your English teacher is marrying your gym teacher. That’s right, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are officially engaged. In photos the duo shared on Instagram, Swift is wearing a striped Polo Ralph Lauren dress, Louis Vuitton heels, and a Cartier Santos Demoiselle Watch. But the real question is: What lipstick is she wearing? The ELLE beauty team is on the case.

Swift has been in her coral lipstick era recently, which is a sharp pivot from her beloved Elson 4, the true red matte lipstick she wore during The Eras Tour. For her engagement, the pop star continued on her coral journey, with a color that veered slightly more pink-toned. During her recent appearance on the New Heights podcast with Kelce, it’s widely believed that Swift wore NARS Morocco Lipstick, which is another shade she’s been a longtime fan of. Her makeup artist, Lorrie Turk, said on Instagram last October that she’s worn that exact shade “for years.” It seems like Morocco might be slightly too orange to be her engagement lip color, though we do know that Swift loves to slap a “fuckass filter” on her photos. We kept sleuthing just in case.

Fans also speculated that she might be wearing Rare Beauty’s Soft Pinch Tinted Lip Oil Stain in Joy for her podcast appearance. It would make sense for Swift to support Selena Gomez, one of her best friends, on a milestone occasion, but did she reach for this lip oil before her engagement? The stain goes on glossy and her lips look more matte, but we can also assume that there was some kissing involved, so it’s possible that the gloss transferred to Kelce’s lips and the stain remained on Swift’s. We’re not ruling it out.

Our beauty director Kathleen Hou thinks that Swift might be wearing Lisa Eldridge’s Rouge Experience Refillable Lipstick in the shade Audrey (fittingly, the shade number is 189). “I’m going to vote for this lipstick as the one she might be wearing, because her makeup artist is a fan and it’s modeled after the exact shade worn by Audrey Hepburn,” she says. Swift loves a fun piece of trivia, and though Hepburn wasn’t exactly a showgirl, she still fits Swift’s current Old Hollywood vibe.

As for me? I think Swift is wearing the new $160 Louis Vuitton lipstick in the shade Wild Soul. Swift has been wearing a ton of Louis Vuitton lately, and the lipstick just launched, so it would make sense that she has access to the whole collection. Plus, all the colors were made by Pat McGrath, who she’s famously collaborated with before (McGrath even made a cameo in Swift’s “Bejeweled” music video). We all know Swift loves an Easter egg, and in the song “But Daddy I Love Him” on The Tortured Poet’s Department, she sings “me and my wild boy and all of this wild joy,” lyrics that are widely believed to be a nod to Kelce—so the color Wild Soul seems particularly apt.
