Travis Kelce is opening up about his engagement to Taylor Swift.
During a September 4 press conference in São Paulo, Brazil, ahead of the Kansas City Chiefs’ season opener, the tight end fielded questions about how things have shifted since he announced his proposal to Swift on August 26. When teammate Patrick Mahomes joked to reporters, “He’s engaged,” Kelce leaned into the moment. “There we go. Exactly,” he said, adding with a laugh, “I got one more ring from it. Well, two if we’re counting the first Super Bowl.”
Kelce acknowledged that the spotlight on his personal life has grown, but said the overall experience has been positive. “I would say, ever since I’ve been dating Taylor, life has been fun… It’s been exciting,” he told reporters. “Obviously a lot more eyes and I accept that, but I’m living life. Living on a high, I guess.”
He echoed similar sentiments on his New Heights podcast earlier this week, thanking listeners for their support following the couple’s announcement. “I appreciate everybody that has reached out and sent something, all the posts and excitement,” he said. “It has been really fun telling everybody who I’m going to be spending the rest of my life with.”
While fans are eager to know when the wedding will take place, a source recently told People that the pair are in no rush to start planning. “Right now they just want to enjoy being engaged and they are going to take their time with it,” the insider explained. “It has been a relief not having to keep it a secret anymore, and they are glad it is out in the open.”
