THE RUNDOWN
- Meghann Fahy stepped out in a deep-cut black gown at tonight’s Emmys.
- The Sirens actress is nominated for Best Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie.
- She spoke in June about how much she loved her role as Devon in the series.
Meghann Fahy didn’t bring her boyfriend, Leo Woodall, to tonight’s Emmys, but the star had a standout, sultry style moment. Fahy looked like a real-life siren on the red carpet, wearing a deep-cut black gown with a high leg slit. She accessorized with Tiffany & Co. jewelry.
Fahy is nominated for Best Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for her work in Sirens. This is her second nomination; she was previously up for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series during the 2023 ceremony for her role as Daphne Sullivan in The White Lotus season 2.
In June, Fahy told The Hollywood Reporter that as soon as she read the first episode script for Sirens, she was on board. “I loved it. I read the pilot and I was like, I have to do this,” she explained. “I’ve never loved a character this way, and it’s so different than anything I had ever done before. I was like, I hope that they will let me step into this space, because the thing that happens a lot in this industry is, if you haven’t done it before, people are a little skeptical. Everybody is more comfortable asking you to do something that they’ve seen you do before.”
She also compared her character Devon to her role as Daphne on The White Lotus, saying, “Most people met me for the first time as an actor on White Lotus, and I love Daphne, but I’m so different than her energetically. Devon’s comedic sensibility aligns more with who I feel I am. And so I’ve always wanted to step into a role like that. There’s something so liberating about playing a character like Devon who literally doesn’t give a fuck about anything, at least on the surface. I wasn’t thinking about what my hair looked like or what my makeup looked like, because she wasn’t either. It was really freeing.”
