THE RUNDOWN
- Zendaya skipped this evening’s Emmys, in part because she has no nominations and isn’t presenting.
- The star has been filming Spider-Man: Brand New Day with her fiancé, Tom Holland.
- The actress last attended the awards show in 2022.
Zendaya hasn’t made a red carpet appearance since the Met Gala, and this evening’s Emmys did not bring the star back out. Her absence is completely understandable, though: The star has no nominations this year and isn’t presenting. There was little reason for her to leave the set of Spider-Man: Brand New Day to fly out to the Los Angeles ceremony.
Next year’s show may be no different. While the star has filmed Euphoria’s third season this year, no official release date has been announced. For the new episodes to qualify for the 2026 ceremony, they would need to be released between June 1, 2025, and May 31, 2026.
Zendaya last attended the Emmys in 2022, wearing a Valentino ball gown and Bulgari diamonds.
The star will have more red carpet appearances soon though. In April, her stylist, Law Roach, teased that 2026 would be big. The actress had just revealed her engagement to Tom Holland in January, and Roach told E! that the couple’s wedding was “far away. They’re both doing a bunch of movies this year, and there’s a lot of premieres next year so you’ll see a lot of red carpets. I’m resting up for 2026.”
In July, he gave E! an update on wedding planning, saying, “The process hasn’t even started yet. Zendaya is working on so many movies. She’s now filming the next iteration of Dune [Part Three in Hungary], so she’s away doing that. It’s so many movies, so we have time. We have a lot of time.”
