Though Zoë Kravitz is not dating her Caught Stealing co-star Austin Butler and is currently single, the actress has been publicly linked to other notable actors in Hollywood. The Blink Twice director tends to be pretty open about whom she’s dating and has been married once and engaged twice. She also often makes public appearances with whoever her partner is at the time.
Here’s what is publicly known about Kravitz and her complete dating history so far.
Penn Badgley
Kravitz and Penn Badgley (You, Gossip Girl) reportedly began dating in 2011. At the time, Badgley revealed that they had met in New York. He was in the city filming Gossip Girl, and Kravitz was living in Brooklyn. In an interview with Movieline, he described their romance as “real, true, earth-shattering love.” The pair also shared an apartment in NYC.
But in June 2013, multiple sources confirmed to Us Weekly that they had ended their two-year relationship. “They are at two different stages in their careers,” one source said. “They just didn’t have time for each other.”
Another assured that things between them ended on “good terms” and that it “wasn’t a sad breakup.”
Badgley went on to marry Domino Kirke in 2017, and the couple welcomed their first child in 2020.
George Lewis Jr.
In May 2015, Kravitz, who previously fronted the alternative band LOLAWOLF, and George Lewis Jr. (otherwise known as the musician Twin Shadow) performed a cover of Sade’s “No Ordinary Love” on an episode of Late Night with Seth Meyers. They also toured together that year. While it’s unclear when their professional relationship turned romantic, they made their first major public appearance in October 2015 at a Calvin Klein event in Los Angeles. Later that month, they also attended ELLE’s Women in Hollywood event.
In an August 2015 interview with Nylon, Lewis said that Kravitz’s best attribute is her “big heart.” He added, “Zoë really is so down-to-earth. She surprises you with how natural she is.”
It remains unclear when the couple broke up, and Lewis has not been publicly linked to anyone else since his relationship with Kravitz.
Karl Glusman
Kravitz and Karl Glusman met at a bar in 2016 through a mutual friend. “I love that it wasn’t on an app and that it wasn’t on a movie set,” she told British Vogue. “My friend knew that I wanted to meet someone—not even to get serious, I think just to get laid, to be completely honest with you—and he brought Karl. I instantly felt something, then he turned around and started talking to the blonde girl next to him, and I was like, ‘Wait, what?’ But he later told me that he was just nervous.”
In a 2018 Rolling Stone interview, Kravitz revealed that they were engaged. “I haven’t told anyone yet,” Kravitz said. “I mean, I haven’t told the world. I wanted to keep it private.”
She said that he proposed to her in their living room. “I was in sweatpants,” she said. “I think I was a little drunk.” Glusman set the scene by lighting candles and playing Nina Simone. “He nailed it. And I love that it wasn’t this elaborate plan in Paris. It was at home, in sweatpants.”
She continued, “I can be my weirdest self around him. It’s so relaxing to be around someone where you can be a hundred percent how you feel.”
The couple wed in June 2019 at her dad Lenny Kravitz’s Paris townhouse. The celebrity guest list included Denzel Washington, Donald Glover, Alicia Keys, and Cree Summer. And, of course, her mom, Lisa Bonet, and former stepfather, Jason Momoa, were also in attendance.
But their marriage sadly didn’t last long. In December 2020, Kravitz filed for divorce.
In a February 2022 interview with ELLE, she didn’t want to go into specific on why they broke up. “I don’t really want to go into that,” she said. “Karl’s an incredible human being. It really is less about him and more about me learning how to ask myself questions about who I am and still learning who I am, and that being okay. That’s the journey I’m on right now.”
But a few months later, she provided more details. “I just learned to think about who I am and what I want,” she told GQ in November 2022. “You meet someone who’s amazing and wants to marry you, and there’s nothing wrong with that. If there’s nothing wrong, then why wouldn’t you do it? You love them and that’s what you do. It’s a hard question to ask yourself: ‘Maybe I don’t want the thing that I’m supposed to want, a marriage, children, any of it. I don’t know if I want that at all.’ That’s an uncomfortable question, especially for a woman to ask herself.”

In August 2021, the same month that her divorce from Glusman was finalized, Kravitz was spotted in NYC with Channing Tatum. That month, a source confirmed to Us Weekly that they were dating, stating that they first connected while working on her directorial debut, Blink Twice. “Things turned romantic fast,” the source shared. “They both have a lot in common, they’re both very active and love outdoor sports and being in the outdoors. They both work in Hollywood, but like being off the grid too.”
In a November 2022 interview with GQ, Kravitz said that Tatum was “a wonderful human” and that they also bonded over their shared love of art and movies. “He makes me laugh and we both really love art and talking about art and the exploration of why we do what we do. We love to watch a film and break it down and talk about it and challenge each other.”
She also shared that no one else could have played his role in Blink Twice. “Chan was my first choice, the one I thought of when I wrote this character,” she told Deadline. “I just knew from Magic Mike and his live shows, I got the sense he’s a true feminist, and I wanted to collaborate with someone who was clearly interested in exploring this subject matter.”
In the same interview, Tatum said, “When Zoë called me about this, I was shocked. I didn’t know her. I’d watched her in movies, knew she produced High Fidelity and had seen that, but I didn’t know she was creating on a level like this, where she wanted to direct.”
In October 2023, multiple sources confirmed to People that they were engaged. They later made their red carpet debut in August 2024 at the Los Angeles premiere of Blink Twice. A few weeks later, they attended the Blink Twice photo-call in London.
But in October 2024, they called off their engagement after three years together. The following month, a source told Page Six that the former couple was still “in touch” and that there was “no bad blood” between them. The insider added, “There was no dramatic falling out between Channing and Zoë. They really just grew apart and decided it was best for them to go their separate ways.”
And in her March ELLE cover story, she said that she still looks at Blink Twice fondly, along with Tatum himself. “I love this thing that we made together, and I care for him very much… I’m so happy that all of it happened. I just feel so grateful that we got to go on that journey together.”
She added that Tatum “has so much more coming, and I think he’s in a place as an actor where he’s feeling really confident and people are seeing different sides of him. He’s got a lot to offer, so I’m excited for people to keep witnessing that.”
Tatum is now dating Australian model Inka Williams.
