These 4 Nail Trends Will Dominate Fall 2025, According to Experts

With nails, there’s always room to have some fun. While deep red remains a classic fall shade, the 2025 season is spicing things up. “Everything is playing off light and heavy and soft and hard, and combining it,” says celebrity nail artist Elle Gerstein. Case in point: at the February 2025 Meruert Tolegen show, Naomi Yasuda elevated a moody dark red mani with tiny pearls to add a feminine flair.

It’s gray-blue shades, like this muted teal, that Gerstein calls “the standout, unexpected color for fall.” Her personal favorite is Mineral Fusion in Perfect Storm. “What I like about this teal is it’s like a take on teal or blue, but it’s heavy—it’s a transformative teal,” she says. The hue makes for a seamless transition from bright ocean blues to deeper, stormier tones.

That’s right, even neutrals are getting an upgrade for fall 2025. “Soft, sheer pinks, and universal neutrals have taken a turn,” says Gerstein. “The neutral isn’t about being so flesh-colored, but having a hint of color such as Essie Charm To Stable.” This new nude reads more waxy, like a pastel with a glossy finish.

There’s something undeniably chic about an ultra-deep plum mani. “It’s a blackened purple but doesn’t read as black—still light enough that you see the purple, which creates a very cozy vibe,” explains Gerstein, who calls the fall shade “glam.” For extra dimension, try topping it with chrome powder or a matte top coat.
